My Big Project

After a lot - and I really mean a lot - of studying yesterday I decided to take a break and start my new big project. I only did a bit, because I was too tired to do a lot...so I didn't even get to finish page one... Hopefully I'll have some more time and won't be this tired this weekend for a better update.

As you all may already know; I'm a huge Scott Pilgrim fan. This (above) is the beginning of the awesome Scott Pilgrim collage! I know it doesn't look like much now, but the two things you can see are a bit of Kim Pine's head and a bit of Knives Chau's scarf.

Happy stitching everyone!

New Project

Yesterday I did a quick run to the craft shop - while at work, just said I was taking my break (which is half an hour) so I had very little time, but I went prepared and I was back at work in 20 minutes, with all the 85 DMC colours I needed. Yes! I was a bit shocked when the old lady in the shop told me what I had to pay for it...but it's ok, I really really want to stitch this.

Below you see the amount of fabric I need to use to make it all fit and the 101 - I repeat - 101 colours that need to be used for this pattern. That is a lot, isn't it? Looks very happy and colourful!

These are the colours I need to use for page one - and I think I forgot one or two...I believe there are more reds in page one.

As you can see, my DMC 'storage box' is very very full, and these aren't even all the colours I've got! I decided to put the colours I don't have to use for this project aside and use this box for this project. I definitely need a bigger project box...also for travelling...

I'll tell you what my project is when I've got a picture of it, unfortunately that's not at this moment, I'll tell you why... This evening I started stitching, I just couldn't wait any longer - I was actually going to start this Saturday, after taking my exam... - and I did most of the black and quite a bit of red of the first character on the first page of the pattern, but as I was stitching the red I noticed that something was wrong. Yes, I missed one measly little stitch. For a split second I thought about just not bothering, but because it's such a big project I decided to just start over again, otherwise I'll regret it for sure. So, no progress picture today I'm afraid! Hopefully I'll have one for you guys this weekend. Happy stitching everyone! I'm going to be 'un-stitching' my new project.

Space Invaders Shirt

I decided to do one very small project before my really big project, so here it is! Blue Space Invaders on a white t-shirt. This one is for my friend L. He really loves Space Invaders, he's got this sleeve tattooed with all the things he loves and Space Invaders is on there as well.

Don't know when to give it to him, he's a very busy guy, but I hope he'll be coming with B and me to the Evil Dead II showing this Wednesday...but probably not...he said he had to pick up an arcade machine.

So...my big project...still have to wait till Saturday to start, have got a lot of studying to do - blegh - and on Saturday I'll be done studying for a while. Yesterday my sister and I were looking at my DMC strands and we were looking which ones I already had that go into the pattern. In total there are 101 different colours and I still need to get 85 of them!!! Pff...it's not going to be cheap, but hey, I really really really want to stitch this!

Lollipop Chainsaw Shirt

Today I made the Lollipop Chainsaw shirt for B. It's already finished - it was a very small, fast and easy stitch - so I'll give it to him tomorrow. He wanted a light grey shirt, I wanted to stitch it on a black shirt, but he wanted a light grey one because he's already got a black Kojima logo shirt. Personally I think the colours would've popped more on a black shirt, but this is what B wanted so that's fine. Dawn at Anime Stitching posted the pattern a few days ago - thank you!

Here is the logo with the plastic still on. (Sorry for the shadow).

And here is the logo without the plastic - please don't mind the darker wet spots.

It's still a bit bumpy and wet, I'll iron it when it's dry - because who wants to wear a bumpy shirt?

Yesterday I stitched the Wailmer onto B's jacket and he's very pleased with it - thank God! - it was quite a pain to do...but it worked out well.

Ooh...and since I'm such a big Scott Pilgrim fan, I bought all the Scott Pilgrim comics and watched the film again. I really cannot get enough of that film! Oh...how I love it^^!

I'll be starting the big project soon! Tomorrow I have to go get some more fabric and DMC floss...the pattern has got 101 different colours. Oh dear...

Happy stitching everyone!

A Small Finish

I finished stitching Wailmer yesterday! He looks a bit crooked and bulgy, but that's because I put him in my little project box. He's going with me to B's tonight, so I can sew him onto his jacket! Am very much looking forward to it.

Hmmm...what shall I do after this? Start on my new massive project or stitch the Lollipop Chainsaw logo on B's shirt? Lollipop Chainsaw is a quick stitch... Happy stitching everyone!

New Start

Thank you all so much for the nice comments you left me on my Zelda finish!

Here's a new start. It's a Wailmer for B's inside jacket pocket. I started it yesterday evening and thought I would be able to finish it, since it's very very small and quite simple, but I couldn't. Think that might have something to do with me watching Scott Pilgim vs. the World... - oh how I love that movie! B & me watched it Saturday night, it was the first time I saw it, yesterday I went to the shop to buy it and I watched it again last night. I really wouldn't mind watching it every day. Is that weird? No, it isn't because: the music is good, the actors are great, the jokes are funny and witty, the game references are awesome and the 7 evil exes are...well...evil!

Anyway, here's my Wailmer.

Hope I can finish it tonight and sew it onto B's inside jacket pocket as well, so I can start my new project. Oh...I found this awesome pattern I can't wait to start... It's really really big and I think it might be slightly more awesome than the Epic Pokémon Patterns...

IHSW Day II & III: Last Zelda Update

I didn't do much stitching this weekend - except for Friday night of course - but I do have a finish to show you! I'm very happy with it. Also very happy that I can finally start on a new project, don't know what my next project will be though...sure I'll think of something fun to stitch!

So here she is: princess Zelda! It took me a bit longer to finish her than Link, think that's because of all the small details in her hair on her dress and shield. Link doesn't have so many details.

Start: 09-03-2012
Finish: 18-03-2012
Colour: DMC 333

And here is a picture of the finished project: Link and Zelda together. Don't they look cute together? I think they do. Don't really know what to do with it though...I do know that I don't want to frame it. Don't really like framing cross stitch pieces.

Hope everyone has had a great Hermit & Stitch weekend! I sure have!

IHSW Day I: Zelda Update III

Hurrah, the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend has started! Today was babysit day so I had loads of time to stitch, which was nice. Although I should've spent more time making homework...instead I stitched, watched Law and Order and read in the Secret Diary of Laura Palmer. Her diary is GREAT by the way, I'm totally into Twin Peaks and I'm feeling all tingly when I think about it, it's so cool and it has this weird atmosphere which gives you the creeps - but I love it! Anyway, here's my progress on Princess Zelda.

It looks like she's almost done, but there's still a lot to do. Tomorrow is another babysit day, so I'll have plenty of time to finish Zelda - after homework...blegh - unless B wants to have a major gaming session, I love gaming sessions with B!

(And I see the number of followers is slowly growing - hurrah again)!
Happy Hermitting everyone!

Zelda Update II

Here's a quick Zelda update! Don't have a lot of time to write something nice...am at work...

And here's a close up of her face. I think she has got such a cute face! Think I'll be able to finish her this IHSW.

Anniversary and Zelda Update I

Yesterday and today were amazing! We had a really really nice Japanese dinner and a really really lovely high tea and lots of fun!

B gave me these two books, because we're both Twin Peaks fans and I always wanted to read Laura Palmer's secret diary. The little book lamp I gave B was broken...well, it works, but a small bit broke off, so I bought him a new one.

I didn't have much time to stitch this weekend, so this is a small update. I really like the colour and I really enjoy stitching Zelda! Think I'm going to stich a bit more tonight...although I can't wait to start reading the secret diary and the guide to Twin Peaks!

Better Pictures of Yoshi in Love and Pika on a Cardi

My mum took pictures of my sisters actually wearing the shirt and cardigan I stitched for them and they look so much better than my pictures, so here they are.

You can still see that the fabric is a bit stiff from the plastic stuff that didn't come out entirely. We gave it a wash and now it looks so nice and soft!

New Start

I finished stitching Link, but he looks a bit lonely so yesterday I started stitching Zelda. Zelda has got such a cute face. Didn't have a lot of time to stitch yesterday - had to study for my physiology exam, should do more studying... - , so this is only a small part, but I like that you can see her face. I did make a bit of a stupid mistake which I just discovered...Zelda is a bit higher on the fabric than Link, I really should pay more attention to these kind of things. Anyway, it'll probably be alright when she's finished...I hope...otherwise I need to start over and I wouldn't want that. Her face looks a lot smaller than Link's, but it isn't if you look at the pattern. And I like that Zelda's looking at Link. They're so cute!

Don't know how much I'll get done this weekend since I have a lot of studying to do and I'm going out with my boyfriend, but I'll try to do some stitching anyway.
Happy stitching everyone!

Last Link Update

Woohoo! Link is done! I finished stitching him yesterday evening. Now it's time for the monochrome Zelda pattern - I want to make Zelda before I start the cute Wailmer for Ben.

Start: 29-02-2012
Finish: 08-03-2012
Colour: DMC 3812
I didn't iron the fabric yet, because I'm going to stitch Zelda next to Link on the same fabric, so I'll iron it when I finish stitching Zelda and it'll all look a lot nicer.

This Sunday is our anniversary! I am so looking forward to it, really, I can't wait! B's treating me to a nice Japanese dinner tomorrow evening and I'm treating him to a nice high tea on Sunday afternoon. The little book lamp you see on the picture is my present to B. I didn't want to give him nothing, because I already gave him the towel and the Pokédex (which originally were his anniversary presents) so I bought this. I think it's so cute! Happy stitching everyone!

Unbelievably Cute!

This has absolutely nothing to do with stitching, but I wanted to share it with you anyway. I came across this really really cute cat in a tub - yes, in a tub.
Which reminds me...here's a really awesome blog for cat lovers - you should definetely follow it if you love cats - !
http://mycatgoma.com/

Has anyone read Chi's Sweet Home? If not, you should! Very funny and very cute. Will make a pattern of her and stitch it soon! Oh...I'd love to have a cat...

Link Update II

Yesterday was a great day! The weather was really really nice, so I went over to B's and we walked around for hours, went to Chinatown to eat dim sum - which was the best dim sum EVER - did some shopping and we missed the movie, but that's ok. We'll go see it soon. As I thought, I didn't have much time to stitch this weekend, so here's my - quite small - update.

There's still so much green to be done! Still thinking about what colour Princess Zelda is going to be...

Link and Mudkip Update I

I did loads of stitching the last two days - you'll probably think I don't have a social life, but I do. So this is my sister's progress.

Isn't Mudkip super cute? I think Mudkip's awesome!

And here's my progress. I wonder how long this is going to take to finish it...it doesn't really matter, I'm enjoying stitching Link. When I'm done with Link I'm going to start stitching a Wailmer for B's jacket. He asked me to stitch a small Wailmer for him for on the inside of his jacket, on his inside pocket. Of course I'll do it! And after Wailmer I'll start stitching Zelda, because Zelda is going to be by Link's side. How romantic. What colour should Zelda be? I was thinking purple - also because the pattern is purple - but I'm not sure if purple would be nice next to this green, so I was thinking 'maybe blue'. Don't know if I'm going to be able to do a lot of stitching tomorrow, because B and I are going out for dim sum and a movie, but we'll see.
