New Project

This week is a lovely lovely week, because I don't have to go to work! Okay, I'm already halfway through my holidays, but still...don't have to go to work for four more days, hurrah! Anyway, thought it would be nice to start a new project, a bigger project - since I've only been working on very small one-day projects. You'll probably recognise him instantly - it's Link! I want to stitch Link and Zelda next to each other. I really love the patterns, I got them from Dork Stitch's blog. Thank you very much Dork Stitch!

And - as in almost every post - I do have something Pokémon-y for you guys; my sister is stitching Mudkip, a Dork Stitch pattern as well. I like stitching with my sister, she doesn't stitch very much, this is her second project. Her first project was Cloud on a towel for her boyfriend's birthday, unfortunately I don't have a picture of it...

Happy stitching!

Pika on a Cardi

Yesterday I stitched Pikachu on my sister's cardigan. I forgot to take a picture of it when the plastic canvas was still on, so here's a picture without it - the only problem is you can't see the black lines very well. Ah, well...

I bought a pocket Pokédex for B and for me, it's so cool! Or actually...it's really nerdy, but I love it and am very very glad I bought them. Am going to start my new project today, will post photos later! (My next project is not Pokémon related).

Yoshi in Love

Today I was in the mood to stitch a 'Yoshi in Love' shirt for my sister L. I was still very tired from not sleeping much and the city trip to London and at one point I decided to take a nap - which was much longer than I intended - and I finished the shirt just before midnight. It took me four and a half hours to finish, don't think that's too bad - anyway, it was definitely worth it, because she really likes it. My other sister, my youngest, wants me to stitch Pikachu on one of her cardigans. I was actually planning to stitch Ponyo - or one of Ponyo's sisters - on a shirt, but she definitely wants a Pikachu on her cardi. So, Pikachu on a cardi it is!

Here's Yoshi and his true love - does anyone know the name of this cute little lady? - with the plastic canvas still on.

Here they are without the plastic canvas. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, it was quite dark when I took it and the colours didn't come out right (they did on the photo above).

I'm tired, so am going to bed. Night night everyone! (The time on my blogposts isn't right, how can I change it)?

London and Stitchy Shirts

London was really really great! I finally got to see the Big Ben - I've wanted to see it since I was a little girl and was so excited when I saw it on Saturday!
Anyway, we went to Chinatown first to eat some dim sum and walk around, look in funny Chinese and Japanese shops, then went to Covent Garden - love it! - and spent the rest of the time around South Bank. We went on the London Eye - very impressive - and we went to Tate Modern and ate fish and chips in a really lovely pub. I really really enjoyed this weekend in London and I miss it already!

And Friday afternoon I started - and finished - the Kirby shirt for R! I don't have a proper picture of it, but you can see R, B and me with our shirts on the photo below. We all look really weird, but that's ok.

No Time..!

I wanted to start on the Kirby shirt for R yesterday, but I didn't have any time! ('That makes me a sad panda'). I'll start on it tomorrow - and hopefully finish it as well - but I won't have much time tomorrow either, because my cousin is coming over and we're going to London this weekend, hurrah! England here we come! So...I probably won't be posting until Monday.

Kojima Productions Shirt Finished!

Luckily I found the same yellow at the craft shop yesterday! I took it with me to B's and I stitched the rest of the Kojima logo. When it was finished I showed B the shirt and he was speechless. He loves Kojima's games so much! He's very happy with the shirt - hurrah! - but it needs a wash first. The plastic canvas is always a bit sticky when you melt it and it doesn't feel very pleasant. I'm quite proud of the result, if I may say so myself.

Kojima Productions Shirt

Yesterday I started on my second shirt, but this one's for B, he knows I'm making this shirt for him, so no secrets or surprises this time. I still have to do a lot - as you can see - but I ran out of floss! Will have to get some more today so I can finish the rest of the shirt when I'm at B's so he can wear it to work tomorrow. I love the Kojima Productions logo, B loves it as well and he loves the games of course.

The true gamer will know what the Kojima Productions logo looks like and knows what parts I've stitched yesterday. Can't wait to finish it! My next project is going to be a Kirby shirt for my friend R. He loves Kirby, he however, does not know that I'm making the Kirby shirt for him.

Professor Layton Shirt

Here's my new shirt! Just soaked it in water, the plastic stuff came off and I dried it and now it looks like this! What do you think?

Am already thinking about my next shirt projects... And I'm going to wear my new shirt tomorrow!

IHSW Day III: Professor Layton

Today I didn't have much time to stitch, but I started a new project - yes...again... - and I finished it as well! Just have to soak it in water to let the plastic canvas dissolve. Here is Professor Layton on a shirt! (I'll post a picture of the whole shirt when the canvas isn't on there anymore). The pattern is very simple and really tiny, but it took me about two hours to finish. I love Professor Layton, I played two games and am playing the latest two at the moment. I just love everything about it, the art, the voices, the music, the gameplay - everything!

I really liked working with the plastic canvas on this shirt and I'm definitely going to stitch some more stuff on shirts.

Yesterday B came over and I just couldn't wait to give him his present. So I did. And he was very very happy with it, he said he loved it and that he wasn't sure he would want to use it, just in case it ruins the stitching.Oh, I'm so happy he likes it!

I'm going to start over with Hang Me Up To Dry, I thought I would finish it, but I just don't like it at all. The colours of the hair are just weird, she's got a green dress, don't know why they put red in her hair.

Hope everyone had a great International Hermit & Stitch Weekend!
I sure did!

IHSW Day II: Hang Me Up To Dry

I did all the stitching I wanted to do today and I'm happy with that, but...I'm a little disappointed in the colours of the girl's hair... Really happy with the cute little face though. I just don't get why they picked these colours... Ok, the greys I can understand, but the red? (Stitching the hair was such a kerfuffle)! And - as you can probably see - I had a hard time with the eyes. The eyes look better in real life though.

It looked so much cooler when it was just black...should've picked my own colours...sigh. Anyway, I'll finish this project anyway, because it's not very big and I'm sure it'll look better when it's completely finished.

Happy Hermitting everyone!

IHSW Day I: A New Start

Last night I could finally start my new project! It's called Hang Me Up To Dry by Gorjuss - a Scottish brand - and it is sooo cute! I was only able to do the black parts of her hair, but today I'll be able to do a bit more. Hopefully I can stitch the face and finish the rest of the hair. I didn't take a picture of the pattern, you'll see what she looks like when she's finished.

This morning I ironed the Link and Epona towel for B and wrapped it. I wrapped the little biscornus for my grandmothers as well. My parents are going over there tomorrow, so they'll give them the little packages.

IHSW Day I: Two Finishes and Totoro

I finally finished B's anniversary present, hurrah! The towel is still drying - had to put it in water to let the plastic canvas dissolve - but the colours look very good. Can't wait to wrap it in. (Tomorrow I have to wrap it, because he's coming over to my place and I don't want him to see it yet. He has to wait three more weeks)!
So here are Link and Epona with the plastic stuff still on.

And here they are without the plastic stuff on.

And here they are a bit closer. And Link's finally got his cute little sword! So...what do you think?

I finished the Irish biscornu as well today. My grandmother doesn't live near me - actually, she lives quite far from us - so I think I'll post it to her.

Here's the biscornu from the side.

Something completely different - and absolutely nothing to do with IHSW - a Totoro watch! I've always wanted one - well, ever since I saw Tonari no Totoro - and I finally found one and I ordered it. I've been wearing it for two days now and I love it!

Tonight I'll start working on a new project I found in a magazine - if I don't fall asleep. Really looking forward to working on it and I'm glad I finished the two projects I really wanted to finish. I put the Pokémon aside for a moment, because it was getting a bit boring...oops, did I really just say that? I love Pokémon! (Who doesn't)?
Happy International Hermit & Stitch Weekend everyone!

Secret Stitch Update III and a New Start

Just three more weeks to finish B's anniversary present. I think I'll be able to finish it this week. I did some work on it today and yesterday. Link is still missing his sword, but I'll give it to him this week. Definitely.

Can't wait to see what it looks like without the plastic canvas! Just a few more colours and then I can wrap it in for B! Hope he'll like it...

Here's a new start: an Irish biscornu for my other grandmother. It's not finished of course, I still have to stitch four clovers and make the other side of the biscornu of course. I'm thinking of adding a few French knots - if I can make them - in the corners. Hope I can finish it before Friday, so I can start with a pattern I think is really cute that's in the latest Cross Stitcher issue.

Spring Biscornu is Finished!

I got a lot of work done while babysitting Friday night. (Below).
Here's a close-up of the front part of the biscornu. I still don't really know what a biscornu is - I know it means something like 'octagonal' - but I like to think of it as a pincushion. So it's at least something useful.

Here's the finished biscornu - or pincushion - from the top. Because I couldn't see the little white lambs, I put them in a light green square. I think it worked out pretty well!

Here's the bottom part of the biscornu. I made these little lambs with DMC ecru, so you can see them properly. I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photos...the first two were taken in the morning - they look fine - but the last two were taken in the evening, so they look a bit blurry and the light is a bit too yellowy. I made this one for my grandmother. Today I'm going to start another biscornu for my other grandmother.

Yesterday I bought a copy of Cross Stitcher Magazine and I love it! There are all kinds of lovely patterns and new project ideas and I just want to make them all. This week I want to start making my second biscornu, finish B's present and this Friday I'll start with one of the patterns in Cross Stitcher Magazine. Can't wait!

Pokémon Pillow Update IV and a New Start

As promised: a picture of Cubone fully filled in. I really like the white of it's skull and the grey shadows on it.

And here's my new start. It is going to be a spring biscornu. I really like the design. Can't remember who designed it, found it somewhere on Google. I still have to do a lot, but I think it already looks cute! Tonight I'm babysitting, so that will be a good opportunity for me to work on my first biscornu! Although I would like to read as well...

Cubone, a Biscornu and a Good Read

Tuesday night I finished filling in Cubone and I'm very pleased with it! Don't have a picture of it yet, I'll post the picture tomorrow.

I found a really nice biscornu pattern - well, I found a few - that I printed out and I started yesterday evening. It's a spring biscornu with very small flowers and little lambs, I really really like it! When I packed my bag this morning before going to work I forgot to put the 'biscornu in progress' in it, so unfortunately no cross stitching for me tonight! Ah well, this means I can be sociable when I'm at my boyfriend's flat.
Luckily, I did manage to put my book in my bag - when still half asleep. I'm reading The Snowman by Jo Nesbo and am really enjoying it. They say Jo Nesbo is the new Stieg Larsson, but I actually find it better. When I - tried to - read Stieg Larsson's books I got stuck every page, just couldn't get any further. Eventually I stopped reading at page 222, because nothing was happening at all. With Jo Nesbo, everything - and more! - is happening when you open the book. That's the kind of book I like, books that really get your attention, books that won't let go of you, books you think about all day long and you can't wait to get back to it. It's about inspector Harry Hole - in Norway - and he's been put on a case with a snowman...am afraid of snowmen now...oh dear... Anyway, if you like (Scandinavian) thrillers and you don't know what to read next, just pick up this book, it really is a good read.

Pokémon Pillow Update III

We had a lovely snowy weekend! It started snowing pretty hard when I went home from work last Friday - I came home covered in snow, even my eyelashes were completely white! And cold of course... I love this kind of weather, it's really very cold and just perfect for taking a stroll watching films, drinking steaming hot tea and eating nice cookies.

I didn't post any updates this week, because I didn't have much time to stitch, I did start filling in a bit of the background - as you can see a tiny bit - but it started to feel like a chore, so I decided to start filling in the Pokémon. Friday was the first time this week I could actually sit down and do some stitching. I filled in five Pokémon, only five to go. I love that they all look so pixellated! Hopefully I can fill them all in this week and then focus on Link and Epona. So, I'm afraid it's going to be a bit of a boring blog for a bit longer, I know I said I would start a new project, but I don't really know what I would like to make next...have to think about that first.

Don't have the right colours for Cubone, Espeon and Wailmer, so I'm going to have to go back to the craft shop and buy some more. Hope I don't get tempted to buy other nice things I don't actually need...

Welcome and Epic Pokémon Patterns

First: a big welcome to my new followers! Thank you for adding me to your list!

Second: I took my anatomy exam last week and I passed! Hurrah!!! One exam done, four more to go...Oh, dear Lord...

I was searching for some new Pokémon Patterns and I found this epic one of generation 2. I really like it, don't know which one I prefer, the first generation epic pattern or the second one...
And I found this round epic Pokémon pattern on Etsy, it's the first generation one, but in a circle! Unfortunately...Mew isn't on it. I like Mew. The first pattern is free, you can find it on the Spritestitch site, the circle pattern you have to pay for. You can find it in Lord Libidan's Etsy shop.

I started stitching the background of my Pokémon pillow, but I didn't get very far...didn't have much time this week. Hopefully I can do some more stitching tonight. The background is a sort of baby blue, I like it, my sister likes it, but my boyfriend doesn't. But that's ok, the pillow's going to be sitting on my bed, not his. Stitching the background is kind of boring and I am kind of eager to start colouring in the Pokémon. I'll start a new project soon - hopefully - so I can update this blog with something fresh and not just two little projects. Didn't do any work on Link and Epona this week either...but that's no problem, I've still got five weeks to finish it. I'd like to start an Epic Pokémon pattern, but I'm not sure I could do it.

Can't wait till it's IHSW! (I believe it's the 18th of Febuary?)

Happy stitching everyone!
