Another Birthday Present Finish

I finished my sister's birthday present yesterday! Unfortunately...I got the cardigan in the wrong size...so it doesn't fit her, but - for some reason - it does fit me. I must've accidently bought my size instead of hers... I am SUCH an idiot! Anyway, I've got a new cardigan with a Studio Ghibli character on it (Jiji of Kiki's Delivery Service) and now I have to rush to the shops to get my sister a nice birthday present.

Here it is with the plastic still on.

Here it is without the plastic.

And here is the whole cardigan. Ah well, I'll just wear it...even if it's a bit childish...that's what you get when you buy a cardigan that's your size instead of your eight year old sister's size...

Another Birthday Present II

Here's a quick update on my sister's birthday present. This is what I did yesterday. Have to get back to stitching now, since I need to finish it before Wednesday!

Another Birthday Present I

My sister's birthday is coming up and I totally forgot to buy her a present! Isn't that awful??? Yes, it is. So today, after work, I went to a clothes shop - it was snowing, which was very nice - and bought her a bright pink cardigan. I'm cross stitching something on it for her. Something by Studio Ghibli.

Present

I started working on my grandmother's birthday present this weekend. It's a small pouch with birds on it. I bought it last week, I thought I would have to sew the pouch myself, but that's already done... And the birds were drawn on there already.

The birds are cute, but it's a bit boring just working with one colour and not using your own creativity. But that's okay, I'll definitely finish it for my grandmother.

Scott Pilgrim Shirt

I'm so sorry for not writing for so long, but I was in Japan! Didn't really have time for stitching or blogging.

Anyway, I just finished a small project for a friend I met in Japan who is a Scott Pilgrim fan - like myself. It's Scott and Ramona in love.

He doesn't know I made this for him.

This is what I did on Monday.

And this is what I did today. I finished it, hurrah!

And here the plastic is off. It's drying now. I'm quite happy with the result if I may say so myself. I hope he likes it and will wear it often! I was thinking of adding 'I'm in lesbians with you' but I decided not to... The sentence is funny in the movie, but I didn't think it would be nice on this shirt.

I'll be posting more now, since it's getting colder and I've got more time to spend inside, and I'm already thinking of another project. The next one is going to be for my grandmother's birthday.

Alice in Wonderland Exchange

Here you can see the rest of my Alice in Wonderland project.
Fiona and I did an Alice in Wonderland exchange. Here is what I sent her.

I had my stitches framed and sentbher some of the plastic to stitch on t-shirts etc., some pieces of felt, some DMC, some pieces of fabric, some pieces of cross stitch fabric and a handmade felt seal.

Her is what she sent me. (I have to say that her package makes my package seem really lame...)

A beautifully stitched Alice, a little bokk about Alice, Mad Hatter tea, white rabbit keyring, Alice curious mints, a postcard and a bookmark. I am so happy wih it! Thank you so much Fiona, for making my first exchange so lovely! It was wrapped in simple brown paper with a tag with 'open me' written on it.

This is what my package looked like.

Japanese Pressies!

My Japanese teacher and her family just got back from Japan and they brought all kinds of lovely Japanese presents with them for me! They got me some typical Japanese cookies, they're really thin and really beautiful with little flowers in them. And sweets that taste like Cola and you can whistle on them! Can't wait to try those out. Can't wait to get to Japan either..!

Amigurumi!

I wasn't in the mood for cross stitching anymore, so I decided to pick up amigurumi again. Amigurumi is a Japanese style of making 'kawaii' little stuffed animals. (You probably know it, it's very popular). Haven't done it in a while...really need to get the hang of it again..!

So, this is a little bear, he's called Polyesty - will explain why - and he was born on the 26th of August, 2012 and he likes cool autumn walks and he's not bothered by the pink shirt he's wearing. He's made of viscose (on the outside) and polyester (on the inside).

I put a picture of him on Facebook and didn't know how to name him, so I asked who knew a nice name. One of my friends said 'In my heart I named him Polyesty' and I kind of liked it, so that's why he's got that particular name.

Medli Update and Cute Stuff

Here's what I've done so far on Medli. It's not going as fast as I would like, but that's okay. It's the summer holidays after all, so time to relax!

Here's a short video of Bailey drinking water out of a Baileys glass. Normally she'd just stick her head in and kind of lick the water, but she couldn't reach so this was her solution. Makes me giggle.

And I found this really really cute website with all these amazing cream puffs and cookies! Oh yes, Totoro cream puffs! かわいいですよね^^!

Jane Eyre Tea Party & a New Project

Today a friend of mine came over to watch the new Jane Eyre, directed by Cary Fukunaga. We had a little tea party with all sorts of typical English stuff. Lemon cake, After Eight - the cherries aren't very English, but I thought we had to have something 'healthy' to eat.

My friend brought over some lovely English fudge. Oh, I really really love English fudge..!

And here is my new project. The colours aren't very clear in this picture, but that's okay. You can't really see what it's going to be at this point, since I haven't done very much yet, but it's Medli from the Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker. I got this pattern of DorkStitches' blog. I love her blog!

Alice Exchange with Fiona!

Thanks for your comments, Fiona and Emma. The person who I'm going to do the exchange with is Fiona! I think it's nice to do the exchange with Fiona, since she is from a city where they celebrate Alice Day! Fiona, could you give me your e-mail address, please? Just leave it in the comments below and if you want I'll delete it immediately after I've read it. I'll send you more details on the exchange and - if you want to - I can tell you what I am going to send you. Thanks!

Here are a few kitty photos, since I haven't been posting a lot of them lately...cough. Bailey wanted some cuddles.

And Bouchra looks like she really didn't want me to take pictures of her. But I did anyway!

Ben wanted a zipper in his Kindle cover, so his Kindle wouldn't fall out. Hope he's going to use this Legend of Zelda cover now!

Alice in Wonderland Exchange

Hi everyone!

I haven't been working on Alice for a couple of days...bit lazy, sorry about that. The lovely lovely weather, Animal Crossing and the release of Pokémon Conquest haven't been helping either...

Anyway! Who would like to participate in an Alice in Wonderland themed exchange? If you are, just leave a comment below and I'll choose one person to do the exchange with.

I don't know if I should tell you what you get or let it be a surprise...if you're curious just let me know and I'll post it.

Oh, almost forgot, you can comment on this post till the 29th of July. On the 29th I'll choose one person to do the exchange with me.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer holidays and the nice weather!
Happy stitching everyone!

I totally forgot to post a picture of Special Agent Francis York Morgan without the ugly plastic! So here he is. Ben wears this t-shirt all the time. Makes me happy^^

Alice in Wonderland II

So here's the first upadte on  Alice in Wonderland. I've finished her hair and I'm now stitching her apron. Unfortunately, her apron is white, so you can't see it very well.

Hope I finish this piece in time, so I can give it to my aunt next week! Happy stitching everyone!

Alice in Wonderland

So this is my new project: Alice in Wonderland. This is the Alice from Kingdom Hearts, I think she's really cute. My aunt is called Alice and because she's my favourite aunt I decided to stitch and frame her this Alice in Wonderland.

I did this in two days. It's quite small though, I thought it would be really big, but it's 60x80 stitches. (60 wide and 80 high). My aunt is coming over next week, hope to have framed it by then!

And, as promised, some cute kitty pictures! As you can see it was a very hot day and Bailey and Bouchra were looking for shade.

Oh, and the summer holidays started, hurrah! (That's why I work at a high school).

A Clockwork Orange & Zelda Kindle Cover

I'm sorry for not posting for so long! Unfortunately I haven't had the time to stitch or make things. I did take lots of pictures of my cats of course, but this post is going to be cross stitch only. Next time I'll post some lovely kitty pictures.

Ben wanted me to make a cover for his Kindle, so I thought I'd stitch something book related for him. He liked A Clockwork Orange, so I decided to make a pattern of the book cover. Unfortunately, you can't really tell that it's A Clockwork Orange, unless you stitch the title on it as well. The eye just doesn't pop enough. I decided to stop the Clockwork Orange thingy. Didn't enjoy stitching it at all...
Remember I didn't know what to do with the Link and Princess Zelda piece of cloth? Well, here's what I made of it.

At the moment my Oxford Japanese Mini Dictionary is in it, but it's definitely big enough for a Kindle. I'm going to give this cover - well, sleeping bag - to Ben tomorrow. Hope he likes it!

B's Back^^! Super Cute Presents and a Finish!

B's finally back from America! He brought me lots of cute presents. The present you see above is from his grandmother, she bought me a flowery ring and when you lift the flower you can see the time. I do have to set the time though...it's not twenty past three.

This cute little cicada on a string is a Japanese toy. I absolutely love it! B got me this one (and the rest of the presents). You have to swing the cicada around the little stick - like the small guy on the yellow piece of paper does - and it actually makes a cicada sound! It's great. It reminds me of playing Animal Crossing in the summer with B.

This pink castle is to make princess ice cubes. I'm not the princessy type, but I do like the idea of having princess tower ice cubes in my drinks this summer.

And this is - as you can see - a Hello Kitty Pez dispenser holding a little heart. I forgot how nice Pez actually is. I already ate two of the packets...and the third is already in there - of course I shared with B, but he didn't like the grape one. And I've got four packets of double flavour Pez!

I really like these presents! The cats are scared for the cicada though...I hoped they would like it. Ah well, I'll play with it in my room, haha.

Bouchra's found a new space to lie down in. She's actually sleeping in it now. My sister will need it again tomorrow. Oh dear, she's going to get a hairy guitar!

Bailey didn't really want to look into my camera today. I think she's tired...or she's just teasing me.

And YES!!! Special Agent Francis York Morgan is finally finished! I really enjoyed stitching this t-shirt for B. Unfortunately I just finished it - it's still soaking in a small tub with soap - so I didn't have a present for B when he got back. But, I do have one for him tomorrow! At first I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it tonight either, because I didn't have enough white DMC, but luckily Mum had some left - so relieved when I found it! I'll post a picture of this Special Agent without the plastic on tomorrow. I'm really quite proud of it. Now I can start with my new project, the one for my aunt. But not tonight, tonight I'm going to read...I really really want to read. At the moment I'm reading Going Out by Scarlett Thomas - I really recommend it!

Special Agent Francis York Morgen...right Zach..?

Special Agent Francis York Morgan Update IV

Don't have much to say about this stunning creature - I mean the ingame version, not the stitched one - at the moment, only that he looks a bit patchy and I should probably get some more white DMC... Hope I can finish it this week! Thought I was able to do a lot more, but I fell asleep while stitching yesterday...jolly good.

Special Agent Francis York Morgan Update III

After an evening and a day of babysitting, this is my progress. I think I need to pop over to the craft shop tomorrow and buy some more white DMC. Can't wait till it's finished and till I can finally give it to B!

B let me hear this song by Gemma Ray, really very lovely. Very Twin Peaks-y. The clip is great as well!

Special Agent Francis York Morgan Update II

I finally finished all the bright blue stitching. I've just started the darker blue thread and I hope I can finish all of the dark blue stitches tonight. Then I can finally go on with the white thread! Colouring in the rest always goes fast, it'll probably - or hopefully - be ready when B comes home.

I went to this thing with my mum tonight, it was a small party in a very special shop. It's called 'the New Label Project' and it's basically a shop with all these boxes up and coming designers can rent to sell the stuff they design. A friend of my mum's is making bags so she was there as well and that's why we were invited. I really liked walking around in the shop, think I might stop by a bit more often. I bought this really cute kitty ring. Here's the link to the designer's website: www.essyello.com

Sleepy Kitties, Snorlax and Special Agent Francis York Morgan

Here's Bailey sleeping on my bed. (I really want to take a picture of them stretching, it looks so funny)!

Here's Bouchra sleeping on the couchy thing. I think they're so cute when they're asleep! The only problem is that - most of the time - they wake up the minute I want to take a picture of them. I found a solution! I switched off all the sounds on my camera - why didn't I think that earlier?

Mum frames Snorlax for us, hurrah! She didn't cut the frame, she said he just fit, except for this really small piece of his ear. I kind of like him being to cropped up in the frame, looks like he doesn't have any room. Fat Snorlax.

I didn't stitch a lot the last - two? - weeks, because it's been way too hot. Especially when working with the solvable plastic, it just melts and gets really really thin, which is not very nice to work with. I do however, have a small update which you can see on the picture above. B went to America with his mum for some family stuff and it's cold here again at the moment so I'll have plenty of time to finish this t-shirt! I really want to finish it before he comes back, so he can wear it when he's home again. Oh how I miss him... So that gives me a week, should be able to do that! I'm nearly done with the bright blue.

Am a bit nervous though...tomorrow's my last exam and I actually have to give someone I don't know a massage and inspect his or her muscles and bones and everything. Luckily I already passed for my four other exams, they were just some multiple choice questions. I just practiced taping muscles on my little sister and it was all good until she had to take them all off...maybe I should've asked an older person to be my guinea-pig. Ah well, she's okay now...
