Pokémon Pillow Update II

It is really really cold outside, finally we are getting some winter weather! It even snowed a bit last night.

I bought a DMC cross stitch kit and a DMC book with patterns from all over the world - really really like the pattern book! - because I only have two projects at the moment and I think it's quite boring to only post pictures of my anniversary present and my Pokémon pillow - especially for the people who read this.

(On the piece of cloth underneath the kitten you can see the letter B that was actually my first cross stitch).

Ok, so here's the Pokémon update. As you can see, I've added Tynamo, Audino and a bit of Azurill. Tonight I'll complete Azurill and there's still a small space for another Pokémon or two. Don't know which one yet, but I'll probably find one - but it's hard to choose! After all the Pokémon have been stitched on I'll have to colour them all in and I'll have to find a nice colour for the background. I think this is going to take me ages to finish, but I like having a project like this, something that's not finished in two days, something you work on for weeks and when it's finished you're very pleased with the result - hopefully - and a little bit sad because you can't work on it anymore.

Secret Stitch Update II

Friday after work I did a bit of work on the anniversary present for my boyfriend. I didn't get very far, somehow stitching on a towel takes ages... Not that I mind, I can't wait till it's finished and I'm very much looking forward to giving it to him. He keeps asking me what I'm making him, but I'm not letting anything go. Well, that's not entirely true, I did tell him it had something to do with Zelda and that it's something you can use. He doesn't have a clue. He comes up with things I haven't even thought about, it's fun having a little secret!

I still have to do quite a bit of colouring in and Link still doesn't have his sword...I really should give him his sword very soon. When I started working on it on Friday, I thought I was done with all the black, but I wasn't - I totally forgot one of Epona's legs! So I did give Epona the missing leg, thought that would be nice.

Present for Grandma

During the Christmas holidays I made my grandmother a present - I didn't know how to cross stitch yet, so I made this handkerchief with a very simple stitch. She liked it very much and instead of using it like a handkerchief, she uses it as a small tablecloth. I did iron it before I gave it her of course - should've taken the pictures after, oh well.

Secret Stitch Update I

I felt a bit guilty after only working on my Pokémon pillow, so I did do a bit of work on my boyfriend's present. Not much, but it looks a lot nicer with a bit of colour - I think. I am so glad I finished all the black lines. The plastic stuff is still bulgy and wrinkly, but it will be ok once it vanishes...or so I hope.

Pokémon Pillow Update I

I was supposed to be working on my boyfriend's present, but instead I worked on my Pokémon pillow. (Don't know why, but I'm completely into Pokémon at the moment, doesn't really make any sense...)

As you can see, Raichu and Trapinch have been added to the fabric, so that makes seven Pokémon. Hurrah! I think I can stitch three or four - maybe five - more Pokémon on there and then I'll start with the colours - can't wait! I'll print some cute Pokémon patterns in a minute and start working on them soon, unfortunately I can't stitch when I'm at work... (Any cute Pokémon you'd like to see on there? Let me know).

I was planning an IHSW this weekend, but then I found out on someone's blog - I'm kind of new to this whole stitching thing, just found out what TUSAL stands for...noob - that the IHSW is every third weekend of the month. Does that mean I can't have a IHSW this weekend? That I have to wait a whole month? That's a shame...but I'm sure I'll be stitching a lot this weekend!

Secret Stitch Project

Yesterday I started making a present for my boyfriend, our anniversary is coming up and I want to give him a towel with a stitched on game character he likes.
So I bought a towel, some stitching stuff you put on it and when you're done, you put it in water and it just vanishes - awesome! At work I printed out a pattern of Link on Epona, my boyfriend's a Zelda fan. Stitching on a towel is really very different, but it works! The plastic thingy does look a bit bulgy and wrinkly, but once I put it in water, it'll be ok.

So this is what I'll be working on when I'm at home - still got about seven weeks, sure it'll be finished by then - and when I'm going somewhere I'll be taking my Pokémon pillow - or whatever it is going to be.

Pokémon Stitches

Last Friday I started stitching Pokémon, Pikachu was the first (I really like Pikachu, I know...cliché and all, but I like him because he's cute and my guinea pig was called Pikachu) and I coloured it in as well. I decided to wait with colouring all the others in and just do all the black lines first, so I only have to take black DMC, fabric and some patterns with me - wherever I go.

Because it was my first cross stitch ever, it took me quite a while. I started Friday evening, picked it up on Saturday morning and finished it a couple of hours later. I'm quite pleased with the result to be honest. After Pikachu I stitched Espeon, Cubone, Darumaka and Wailmer.
The next Pokémon I'll be stitching Raichu and Trapinch.

I don't know what to do with it yet - do know that I don't want to frame it - might make it a small Pokémon pillow. I'll be posting more photos when I've got some more Pokémon on it. Can't wait to colour it all in!

Inspiration

During the Christmas holidays I really wanted to make something, to stitch something, but I didn't know what. Mum gave me some books with cross stitch patterns, but I didn't really get in the mood for cross stitching by looking at them. They were nice, but a bit oldfashioned and childish. Because I'd never cross stitched before I decided to stitch the letter B. I didn't want to make any more letters and decided to look on the internet for some interesting patterns and I came across a really nice blog (http://eveningemma.blogspot.com/) which inspired me to cross stitch Pokémon. Thank you very much Evening Emma! So I'm bursting with inspiration now and I'll be posting everything I stitch on this blog.
