My New 'Roommates'!

Yesterday my new 'roommates' arrived! Well, my dad and I had to go pick them up, but it was a nice outing. They are SO cute and so sweet and I just can't stop cuddling them.

They're two sisters, they're seven years old - because they first belonged to someone else I couldn't name them myself, the brown one is called Bailey and the grey one is called Bouchra.

The thing Bouchra is lying in is her old basket from her previous owners. We thought it would be nice to take something from their old home with us.

But, as you can see, they've already found a new spot to relax: my bed!

Scott Pilgrim Collage Update IV

Sorry for not posting an update for so long. I've been way too busy with visiting friends, preparing stuff for my cats - I'll tell more about them later - and playing Pokémon Emerald.

Anyway, here's my tiny tiny update - as I said, I've been doing so many other things than stitching and blogging, so it's a miserable update, but an excuse for a blog post.

Last weekend, B and I went to Rotterdam to visit people we'd never met before to take a look at their cats. They've got two beautiful British shorthairs, but they can't keep them because the woman is pregnant. I found the advert on the internet and I replied immediately, since my parents said it was ok for me to get two cats - yesss! B and I fell in love with them immediately and this weekend I'll be picking them up! I really really cannot wait till they're here! I tried to take the pictures of the cats off the advert page, but unfortunately that didn't work. I'll post some photos when they're here.

Something else now...because I'm doing a lot of different things and I haven't got much time to stitch - and to be honest, as much as I love Scott Pilgrim, I'm suddenly much more in the mood for stitching Pokémon, so I'm not sure whether you'll see a lot of Scott Pilgrim updates - this blog is probably going to change a bit. It's not only going to be about stitching, there will be cats involved and games.

Hope you followers will still want to follow me, even after the blog change. I'll still be posting stitch updates, so don't worry about that! Hope you've all had a good IHSW - I didn't have time for that this weekend either... Happy stitching!

Scott Pilgrim Collage Update III

This weekend was a long weekend so I had lots of time to stitch. I finally got to finish Knives Chau's hair - I think it looks really good - and I did a lot of the door Scott, Ramona and some really cute cat are going through.

Here's a closer picture of the cat. I love the cat, it's so cute!

So much more to do though...
Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!
Happy stitching everyone!

Scott Pilgrim Collage Update II

First this:
Yes, it's a Ramona Flowers bag! It came for me in the mail yesterday. Ooh, I'm so happy with it! The shape is a bit weird, so I stuffed it with some fabric and I hope the shape will improve a bit. But if not, that's fine as well.

And here is my Scott Pilgrim update. It's not a very big update, but it's an update. Still need to do a bit of Knives Chau's red hair. And all of Kim Pine's face. I just started with the second page before finishing the first one. Don't know why...probably because I couldn't wait.

Scott Pilgrim Collage Update I

Last Saturday was nerve wrecking...well, only the morning part. I had to get up really really early, cycle to the place where I had to take my exams - yes, there were three - (approximately 40 minute bike ride) take my exams (which was a lot more difficult that I had hoped) and then cycle back again. The rest of my Saturday was really really nice, had some time to relax! B & I went into town, he cooked for me, played Silent Hill and then watched the Evil Dead I & II. We were actually going to watch the third as well, but we weren't in the mood any more after watching two of them. Last night was salsa night, which was really nice as well. Oh! I gave the space invaders t-shirt to my friend L and he was so thrilled with it he hugged me - he never really hugs me. And, as you can see, I did a bit of stitching. Here's my progress on the Scott Pilgrim Collage.

You can actually recognise Knives Chau now. There are so many different greys in just this one character...I'm glad she has this tiny bit of red in her hair.

Above you can see my new project pouch. I wanted to buy a slightly bigger tin, but I couldn't find one that was big enough to fit all the things needed for Scott Pilgrim. B thought this pouch suited me - and it reminded him of Animal Crossing and I'm a huge Animal Crossing fan - and I liked it too so I bought it. I can put everything in there, a lot of DMC floss, bits of the pattern, my fold-out scissors, needles and even the fabric I'm working on.

The tin on the right was the project box I used for all my other projects. As you can see, it's rather small.

There's still so much work to be done! Happy stitching everyone!

My Big Project

After a lot - and I really mean a lot - of studying yesterday I decided to take a break and start my new big project. I only did a bit, because I was too tired to do a lot...so I didn't even get to finish page one... Hopefully I'll have some more time and won't be this tired this weekend for a better update.

As you all may already know; I'm a huge Scott Pilgrim fan. This (above) is the beginning of the awesome Scott Pilgrim collage! I know it doesn't look like much now, but the two things you can see are a bit of Kim Pine's head and a bit of Knives Chau's scarf.

Happy stitching everyone!

New Project

Yesterday I did a quick run to the craft shop - while at work, just said I was taking my break (which is half an hour) so I had very little time, but I went prepared and I was back at work in 20 minutes, with all the 85 DMC colours I needed. Yes! I was a bit shocked when the old lady in the shop told me what I had to pay for it...but it's ok, I really really want to stitch this.

Below you see the amount of fabric I need to use to make it all fit and the 101 - I repeat - 101 colours that need to be used for this pattern. That is a lot, isn't it? Looks very happy and colourful!

These are the colours I need to use for page one - and I think I forgot one or two...I believe there are more reds in page one.

As you can see, my DMC 'storage box' is very very full, and these aren't even all the colours I've got! I decided to put the colours I don't have to use for this project aside and use this box for this project. I definitely need a bigger project box...also for travelling...

I'll tell you what my project is when I've got a picture of it, unfortunately that's not at this moment, I'll tell you why... This evening I started stitching, I just couldn't wait any longer - I was actually going to start this Saturday, after taking my exam... - and I did most of the black and quite a bit of red of the first character on the first page of the pattern, but as I was stitching the red I noticed that something was wrong. Yes, I missed one measly little stitch. For a split second I thought about just not bothering, but because it's such a big project I decided to just start over again, otherwise I'll regret it for sure. So, no progress picture today I'm afraid! Hopefully I'll have one for you guys this weekend. Happy stitching everyone! I'm going to be 'un-stitching' my new project.

Space Invaders Shirt

I decided to do one very small project before my really big project, so here it is! Blue Space Invaders on a white t-shirt. This one is for my friend L. He really loves Space Invaders, he's got this sleeve tattooed with all the things he loves and Space Invaders is on there as well.

Don't know when to give it to him, he's a very busy guy, but I hope he'll be coming with B and me to the Evil Dead II showing this Wednesday...but probably not...he said he had to pick up an arcade machine.

So...my big project...still have to wait till Saturday to start, have got a lot of studying to do - blegh - and on Saturday I'll be done studying for a while. Yesterday my sister and I were looking at my DMC strands and we were looking which ones I already had that go into the pattern. In total there are 101 different colours and I still need to get 85 of them!!! Pff...it's not going to be cheap, but hey, I really really really want to stitch this!
